The Public Service Alliance of Canada reached a tentative agreement with Parks Canada Agency on Friday, November 23, 2012. Ratification vote meetings will be held across the country throughout the next month.

The Idle No More movement continues to gain momentum, with events held across the country on a regular basis, consistent coverage from major media outlets, and growing support from the public. In Saskatchewan, PSAC members united with activists from other unions and community groups to participate in Idle No More rallies and marches.

Rob Clarke, the Conservative MP for Desnethé-Missinippi-Churchill River, has been silent on Parks Canada's decision to stop grooming ski trails in Prince Albert National Park, and we've taken notice. Marianne Hladun, Regional Executive Vice-President for the PSAC Prairie Region, wrote him a letter to voice her concerns.

Prince Albert, SK – The Public Service Alliance of Canada condemns the federal government for their continued attacks on Canada’s most valuable natural ecosystems and natural areas, including the most recent decision to stop grooming cross country ski trails in Prince Albert National Park.

Everyone’s got an opinion, and we want to hear it. PSAC Prairies members are invited to share their thoughts regarding the 2013-2015 PSAC Prairie Region Education Plan at planning meetings throughout the Prairies this November and December.

The Prairie Region Council Education Committee has begun the process of developing the 2013 - 2015 Prairies Regional Education plan. We are gathering ideas and input from members across the region in a variety of ways:Membership Survey - open to all PSAC Prairies members. The survey takes about five minutes to complete, and each completed survey will be entered into a draw for a GREAT PRIZE (two prizes awarded in each province). The survey closes November 30 and the draw for prizes will take place December 12.

The proposed sale of community pastures in Saskatchewan is supported by virtually no one in the province or the country and today’s announcement by the provincial government raises more questions than it provides answers, according to the Agriculture Union – PSAC which has launched a campaign to protect the prairie grasslands in question.
