This bulletin contains information on the extended deadline for the registration of delegates and observers. DEADLINE EXTENDED FOR REGISTRATION OF DELEGATES AND OBSERVERS: MARCH 31, 2021 AT 12:00 PM CST / 11:00 AM MST.  DELEGATE REGISTRATION The deadline for locals to register delegates to the 2021 Prairie Region Convention being held virtually on June 24-27, 2021 has been extended to March 31, 2021 at 12:00 PM MB time and 11:00 AM SK and AB time (following the time change).

This bulletin contains a deadline reminder on delegate and observer registration as well as on supplemental resolutions.  This bulletin also includes new information regarding the convention schedule where one additional day has been added. Therefore, the 8th Triennial Prairie Region Convention will be held virtually June 24-27, 2021. Attention: All Locals/Branches of PSAC Prairies, Component National Officers, Component Full-Time Vice-Presidents of Prairie Region, Prairie Region Council, Area Councils, Regional Women’s Committees, Human Rights Committees, Equity Committees, National Indigenous Peoples’ Circles and Regional Young Workers Committees The 8th Triennial Prairie Region Convention will be held virtually June 25-27, 2021. Deadline for receipt of supplemental resolutions:  February 19, 2021

Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, the National Board of Directors has passed a motion that all regional conventions be conducted virtually.  The Prairie Region Convention will take place virtually on June 25-27, 2021. The official revised Convention Call will be circulated to all bodies eligible to attend convention (locals, committees, area councils, National Officers, etc.) on December 15, 2020. 

The National Board of Directors met on Monday, April 27, 2020, and confirmed that: the 2021 PSAC National Triennial Convention will be postponed until 2022; and the PSAC Regional Conventions and PSAC Component Conventions will be postponed until 2021. With this decision, the 8th Triennial Prairie Regional Convention that was scheduled to be held in Regina June 12-14, 2020 has been rescheduled for spring 2021.  

PSAC has confirmed that all regional conventions are officially postponed. This includes the 8th Triennial Prairie Region Convention scheduled for Regina, Saskatchewan on June 12-14, 2020. No further information is currently available but once more information is available, it will be communicated widely. Also, please note that PSAC Regional Offices remain closed until further notice.  Staff are continuing to answer phones and respond to emails as they work from home.

In keeping with recommendations from both local and national health authorities, the union has made the difficult decision to suspend activities that would require a large gathering of members.
