Calgary Area Council - Feb. 18/2010
In Attendance: Danial Curotte, Karen Paull, Garth Caron, David Fandrich, Robyn Benson, Dolly Ablitt, Charles Linklater, Ruth Hargrove
Danial called the meeting to order and thanked Sister Benson for attending
Mi nutes from the previous meeting: -the minutes were adopted as presented
Financial Statements:
- Karen Paull presented the financial statements
- Robyn reminded the Calgary Area Council that it is responsible for setting aside $500 dollars per year for regional convention and that this should be included as a note on the statements
- Sister Benson wanted some clarification on why $1183 was included for Labour Day BBQ
- The expenses for the BBQ were went over and it was noted that the money for the shirts worn were provided by UTE
- In regards to the United Way Buttons, Sister Benson wanted to note that the PSAC has companies it uses for promotional items and it could have been more cost effective, perhaps even covered by another budget, had it been brought to the regions attention
- Dolly had contacted several companies to make sure buttons were as cost-effective as possible
- Financial statements would be put together in time for next meeting
Robyn Benson Addresses CalgaryArea Council:
- Robyn re-iterated that it is her goal to visit the various regional councils twice a year
- She also suggested that the committees should have there finances audited by another committee
- She reminded us that PSAC has budgeted funds for many different items and that it is worth while to consult with the Regional Office to see if some of our activities could be covered by another budget i.e.- political action budget
- Sister Benson talked in regards to the Hands off my Pension Campaign,
- She suggested that a town hall regarding the pension campaign be held.
