Meeting Minutes
April 27, 2010

The meeting was called to order at 5:40 p.m.with a round-table of introductions.
Sister Connie passed around some advertisements dating from the 1940’s/1950’s. The ads generated some discussion related to the portrayal of women in the media.
The minutes of the January 27, 2010meeting were reviewed. No errors/omissions noted.
Finances:
Sister Huggins advised there is $1230.00 in the bank. The committee incurred expenses of $700.00 for the DVD project done for International Women’s Day; costs are to be reimbursed by Sister Benson (REVP – Prairies).
Receipt of the operating grant from PRC and Ottawafor 2010 is currently outstanding. Sister Huggins (Treasurer, RWC) and Sister Brandt (Treasurer, Human Rights Committee) agreed to meet on May 12 at the Regional Office to review the books for the other’s committee.

1. Early Learning Childcare Coalition – supported nationally by PSAC; there is an office in Regina

Upcoming Conferences:
Prairie Region Women’s Conference will be held in Saskatoonin September. There are approximately 90 delegate seats. The Conference will offer 3 workshops: Pension and Women, Childcare, and Mobilizing for Change. A brief discussion on formulating resolutions and routes for submitting resolutions to the National Women’s Conference occurred.
National Women’s Conference will be held in Ottawain October 2010.
Prairie Region Convention will take place in Reginain 2011.

Agreed Sister Suzanne will approach Sally Elliot and ask her to speak at our next meeting.
