Become a Joint Learning Program Co-facilitator

Looking for a chance to improve the workplace and union management relations in the federal public service while developing or enhancing your co-facilitation skills and gaining Key Competency behaviours?

If the answer is yes then we invite you to apply to join our team of Joint Learning Program Co-facilitators!

This opportunity is open to Union members and their Employer counter parts working for departments for whom Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) is the Employer. You will be trained to co-facilitate workshops, jointly developed by the union and TBS, to other Federal Employees.  The six workshop topics are:  Understanding the Collective Agreement, Creating a Harassment Free Workplace, Duty to Accommodate, Respecting Differences Anti-discrimination, Employment Equity and Union Management Consultation.

After receiving one week of facilitator orientation training, you will be expected to co-deliver a minimum of five workshops for the JLP over the next eighteen months.  Your total time commitment to the Program would be a minimum of 15 days, but may be greater depending on the location and topic of the workshop.  Your employer’s approval and support for this time commitment is necessary to be considered for training.

All costs associated with the orientation session and the subsequent workshops - travel, accommodation, meals etc. are paid by the JLP.  Your employer is responsible for covering your salary to attend the orientation session, for your workshop preparation and delivery days, and any travel time involved.

We are scheduling a facilitator orientation session for the Prairies/NWT Region from October 28th – November 1st, 2013 at a location TBD.  You can apply on line and get more information by visiting our web site www.jlp-pam.ca.

Please ensure your application has been submitted by June 14th.  We will be reviewing applications and anticipate conducing phone interviews during July and August.

We encourage employer representatives, members from equity groups and PSAC trained facilitators to apply.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
