Prairie Region Council October 2013
I do not have too much to report since our meeting in April 2013.
We continue to struggle to have participation by locals in the area. We continue to hold WMAC meetings. I was excited at the last meeting when we had a few new members come to participate. We will see if this continues.
I had participated in the steering committee for the PSAC Prairie Region Regionals Women’s Conference. I attended the Conference in Banff AB along with the other women from the PSAC Prairie Region to tell “Their Stories”. It was well received by the women in attendance. Great job ladies and in particular Nancy who dedicated many hours for the success.
CEIU Winnipeg Locals hosted a BBQ to start the “One On One Conversation”. The event had over 80 attend with many questions that were answered by Sister Hladun and myself.
I attend the Brandon District Labour Council meetings when time allows. I will be attending the National PSAC Conference in Toronto ON as a delegate in November 2013.
In December we will again participate in the United Way Christmas Tree Auction.
This fall we will give another attempt to see if we can garner support for the WMAC Women’s Committee. I have been speaking with women and there still seems to be an interest to get it going. Cross your fingers, here we go……
