Prairie Region Council February 2015
Activities to date:
- Attended the Canadian Labor Congress Election Preparedness course in Saskatoon on January 9th and 10th, 2015. This course provided us with tools for effective campaigning, inclusive campaigning and how to take these skills and tips forward from engagement to action for effective campaigning. I look forward to working with Area Council to share the tools I was provided with. Full report submitted to PSAC Regional office w/e Jan 15th.
- Attended Area Council meeting on Wednesday, January 21st. Gave them a briefing on what I learned and indicated I would like to do what I can to assist in their political campaigning. Members expressed some concerns that I will be bringing forward to the PRC meeting in February. We discussed some political action activities for the upcoming election. AGM to be held in March or April with elections in 2015.
- Obtained a contact list from PSAC of the local presidents in my area. I will be working with my Area Council Southern SK rep, Satinder Bains to canvass our area for any concerns from the locals.
- Attended Leadership course in Winnipeg from Jan 29th to Feb 1/15. This course provided us with understanding our roles and responsibilities as PRC reps. We discussed tactics, plans and actions and were provided with the tools to assist us with the three PSAC priorities.
