The 44th International Convention of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU) will be held in Chicago Illinois at the Hyatt Regency May 20-25, 2015. The theme of the Convention is Owning Our Future-Building Our Community. More information can be found at the following link http://www.cbtu.org/ .
PSAC will be sponsoring two members who are activists and members of CBTU to attend the Convention.
If you are interested please send an email to both Sharon DeSousa, Regional Executive Vice-President of PSAC Ontario desouss@psac.com and Larry Rousseau Regional Executive Vice-President of PSAC National Capital Regions roussel@psac.com completing the following questions by April 27, 2015:
- How long have you been a member of CBTU?
- Do you self-identify as Racially Visible?
- What elected position do you hold on your Local Executive, PSAC Committees, Area Council, Regional Council or Nationally?
- What are the three most important issues you believe CBTU needs to address?
- How will attending this Convention benefit you and PSAC?
- Are you prepared to write a report on the Convention?
