Labour Day community events

The results of the October 19 federal election will have a profound impact on our rights as workers and on conditions that affect our families, our communities and our country.

This year, more than ever, it is important that we participate in Labour Day parades and other related events, to show our solidarity with other workers and our willingness to fight for the issues we care about - public services, retirement security, health care and child care. We need to show that we stand together for good jobs and the rights of workers to join unions, to bargain collectively and have safe and healthy workplaces. This is the year we march for change.

Attached below is a list of Labour Day events as of August 25, prepared by the Canadian Labour Congress. PSAC regional offices and district labour councils will have information about activities in their areas. I am asking all of you to take a few hours and be a part of the Labour Day events in your communities.

In Solidarity,

Robyn Benson
National President
