PSAC’s June 8th actions in support of our federal public service bargaining teams are less than two weeks away. I encourage all PSAC members in the federal public service to participate. Please contact your local, or the closest PSAC Regional office, to find out how you can participate.
By joining in, you tell the Liberals that you expect their promise of respect and fairness to be kept in the current round of collective bargaining. So far, the government’s negotiators are sticking with the previous Conservative government’s proposal to replace your negotiated sick leave with a short term disability plan. They have offered only a 0.5% yearly wage increase, even though members of Parliament and senators received a base salary hike four times that much.
We know the government responds to pressure. Just two days ago, Treasury Board President Scott Brison announced he will repeal the previous government’s unconstitutional changes to the collective bargaining process.
We have been at the bargaining table too long. Please take action on June 8th to achieve a collective agreement with fair wages and benefits, including sick leave.
In solidarity,
