Prairies Young Workers Conference - Advancing Labour
The PSAC Prairie Region is pleased to announce a conference specifically designed for young workers. The conference will take place at the Chateau Lacombe in Edmonton, Alberta. The conference will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday April 13th and close at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday April 15th, 2018.
Overview:
Conference participants will have the opportunity to learn from each other, build relationships, and plan for the future. We will explore strategies for common issues, learn more about PSAC campaigns and opportunities, and develop networks to face the challenges ahead.
Participants will also have the opportunity to meet and chat with Sister Marianne Hladun (Prairies Regional Executive Vice-President) and Sister Mackenzie Campbell (Prairie Region Council representative for Young Workers).
The Conference Participants:
We are able to fully fund approximately 30 young worker members from the Prairie region.
Funding for the above participants includes the conference registration fee, along with travel, accommodation (for participants from outside the Edmonton area), loss of salary, meals, etc.
The deadline to register for the conference as a fully-funded participant is Monday, March 5th, 2018.
Locals may send additional participants, at their own expense. The conference registration fee for Local-funded participants is $150 (to cover the cost of on-site meals, refreshments and conference materials). Details on how to pay the registration fee will be provided after the registration forms have been received by the PSAC.
The deadline to register additional Local participants for the conference is Monday March 12th, 2018. Please note there are a limited number of extra seats available and they will be allocated (one per Local) on a first come/first served basis.
A Participant Information Package with details on travel and accommodation will be sent to all registered participants after their registration form has been received by the PSAC.
