We call on the Greek government to allow the flotilla to complete its humanitarian mission to Gaza. We also urge our own government to pressure the Israeli state to respect international law and end the illegal blockade immediately.
Each year on May 17, across Canada and around the world, we recognize the International Day Against Homophobia –– a day for all of us to stand together with our LGBT Brothers and Sisters to demand respect and engage in a dialogue about the importance of tolerance and compassion.
On June 21 National Aboriginal Day, we honour Aboriginal Peoples across Canada. We celebrate their contributions, recognize their struggles, and stand together in solidarity to fight against the continued mistreatment and abuse from the Harper Conservatives.
This June, and continuing throughout the summer months, we celebrate the gains of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) peoples during annual Pride celebrations across the Prairies and around the world.
The Calgary Human Rights Committee and the Prairie Region Council were proud sponsors of the 13th Annual Fairy Tales Queer Film Festival (May 26 - June 2, 2011).Brother Timothy Hunt, PRC LGBT Rep, assembled members from the various committees in Calgary to act as volunteer staff for the festival on May 31. PSAC also submitted a 40-second public service announcement video, which screened prior to each film screening.
The PSAC National Aboriginal Peoples' Conference will be held September 30 to October 2, 2011 at the Explorer Hotel and the Yellowknife Inn in Yellowknife, NT, under the theme “The Path that Unites us”.
