The Manitoba region includes members in Winnipeg, Brandon and surrounding areas who serviced out of the Winnipeg Regional Office, responsible for more than 8,000 members across Manitoba.

The attached Mission Statement was drafted by the PSAC National Board of Directors following its retreat in October, 2012. It has been endorsed and duly signed by all members of the Board.

Leading up to the holiday season, the Winnipeg Human Rights Committee (HRC) purchased scarves, mittens and touques for children in Winnipeg’s inner city communities. The recipient of the donation was Kookum's Place Daycare, a division of the Centre for Aboriginal Human Resources Development (CAHRD).

On October 22, 2012, the Manitoba Labour Board certified PSAC as the bargaining agent for all research assistants and student assistants employed at Brandon University. Local 55601 comprises nearly 400 members employed annually by the university.At their first general meeting on December 3, 2012, members elected the bargaining team and executive for PSAC Local 55601. Corey DeGagné, a Brandon University student who was involved in the organizing drive, was elected Local President.

The past few months have been busy for the local executive and bargaining team at the Centre for Aboriginal Human Resource Development (CAHRD), and they show no sign of slowing down.

All employees at the Centre for Aboriginal Human Resource Development (CAHRD) will now benefit from improved working conditions and free collective bargaining, as nearly 100 workers, ranging from employment counselors to childcare workers and teachers, joined the Public Service Alliance of Canada on September 14, 2012.

The Public Service Alliance of Canada reached a tentative agreement with Parks Canada Agency on Friday, November 23, 2012. Ratification vote meetings will be held across the country throughout the next month.
