Northern Saskatchewan

The Northern Saskatchewan region includes members in Saskatoon, Prince Albert and surrounding areas who serviced out of the Saskatoon Regional Office, responsible for more than 2,300 members.

The 26th Annual SFL Summer Camp, sponsored by the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour, will be held August 10-­‐16, 2014 at Fort Qu’Appelle Calling Lakes Centre.Application Deadline is May 30th at noon.Please refer to the attached SFL flyer and Registration form for further information and distribution.

To recognize National Day of Mourning, we're releasing a special edition of the Prairies Video Project to highlight asbestos awareness.This video highlights the work of the Saskatchewan Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (SADAO), a non-profit organization co-founded by former PSAC member Howard Willems, and the development of Bill 604, "Howard's Law".

On February 6 PSAC returned to the bargaining table with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). Throughout the Prairies and across Canada, PSAC’s CFIA members joined demonstrations at workplaces across the country in a massive show of support for their bargaining team.Members in Regina, Saskatoon and Brooks wore stickers bearing the slogan "Negotiate Now" to encourage the employer to reach a fair and equitable agreement with employees. Members were excited to partipate in the action and show a united front.

Ignoring widespread opposition across the country, on January 31, 2014 the federal government went ahead with plans to shut down Veterans Affairs offices in Corner Brook, Charlottetown, Sydney, Thunder Bay, Windsor, Brandon, Saskatoon and Kelowna. The office in Prince George closed last year.Veterans mobilized and held protests and events across the country and PSAC was proud to be an ally and supporter of these events.
