 At noon today (Tuesday, December 19, 2017) Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and Customs and Immigration Union (CIU – a component of PSAC) members and allies will be taking their message of fairness to the Regina offices of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).  

The union representing Port of Churchill workers is calling on the federal government to finally recognize that Omnitrax will play no further role in the future of the Hudson Bay Railway, the Port of Churchill, and the communities affected by their negligence. Today, Omnitrax declared its intention to sue the federal government under NAFTA rather than live up to its duty to repair the rail line.

Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and the Union of Canadian Transport Employees (UCTE) at the Winnipeg Airport will be holding a public rally at City Hall today (Wednesday, September 27, 2017) at 12 noon.

Union members, community groups and concerned citizens will gather at Winnipeg City Hall to support Winnipeg Airport workers and call for a fair collective agreement.

In one month – on October 19, 2017 -  it will be the second anniversary of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government. It is also day that the federal government has chosen to impose as a deadline for employees of the Vegreville Immigration Centre. 

The Winnipeg Airport is doubling-down on its efforts to contract out employees’ work.

The Winnipeg Airport Authority has been sitting on a potential threat to public safety for over a year.

Come gather today to send a message to the Winnipeg Airport Authority (WAA) and support PSAC/UCTE workers.

Following the failure to negotiate in good faith with workers, the employer is now negotiating in the media, rather than at the bargaining table. 

A strike began at the Winnipeg Airport Monday morning (July 24, 2017) at 3:00am. After seven days of negotiations with the assistance of a federally-appointed mediator aimed at resolving all outstanding issues in bargaining between the Winnipeg Airport and its General Bargaining Unit employees, members of UCTE Local 50600 of the PSAC, the employer left the talks at 6:00pm Sunday after tabling an offer which failed to address almost all of those issues.
