The goal of the Duty to Accommodate course is to provide you with the tools and information needed to effectively represent members requiring accommodation in the workplace. During this in depth two day session, you will learn to apply the legal definition of discrimination and accommodation, identify proactive accommodation measures for the workplace, and navigate different processes involving accommodation including disability benefits, return to work plans, Workers’ Compensation and injury on duty and health and safety provisions). You will also learn to effectively deal with challenges and key issues related to accommodation including mental health concerns, multiple disabilities and harassment, along with the various recourse mechanisms available to you.
