Labour Day is one week away and we hope you'll join us for our two part Labour Day celebration:
Monday, September 1st
Labour Day March
1:00pm
Memorial Park (across from the Legislature)
We will first gather in the park and then march from Memorial Park to Vimy Ridge Park down Portage Ave. It would be great to see a sea of union members and their supporters marching through the streets with banners, flags, and union gear. We are fortunate to have Brother Daniel Blaikie of IBEW 2085 leading the march with his bagpipes!
Labour Day Picnic - Winnipeg
2:00pm - 4:30pm
Vimy Ridge Park (821 Preston Ave.)
The afternoon will be filled with fun for the whole family. We will have hot dogs and drinks available, as well as games and face painting. We will also be entertained with the music of Heather Bishop. Please bring your family and friends for a great afternoon to celebrate labour's accomplishments.
Labour Day Picnic - Brandon
2:00pm - 4:00pm
Errol Black Park (1st. & Rosser Avenue, Brandon)
Please join the Brandon and District Labour Council by celebrating Labour Day with FREE BBQ - hotdogs, drinks & other goodies. This is a great day to celebrate the gains made by the labour movement and a time of solidarity with your union brothers and sisters, and folks in our community. This free event is open to everyone, so please encourage everyone to attend ... it will be a good time!
