Marianne Hladun was elected Prairies Regional Executive Vice-President (REVP) at the 6th Regional Triennial Convention of the PSAC Prairie Region on June 29, 2014 in Saskatoon.
She previously served for two years as REVP after Robyn Benson, former Prairies REVP, was elected PSAC National President at the PSAC 16th National Triennial Convention on May 4, 2012 in Ottawa.
An active PSAC member for over 20 years, Hladun’s comprehensive union experience spans various positions, committees and bargaining teams.
Accomplishments during her partial-term as REVP include the award-winning Prairies Video Project, which was created to preserve union stories and share them with current and future members in the Prairies.
She also developed the PRC Rep Handbook and Funding & Reporting Procedures for Committees and Area Councils to ensure accountability and consistency.
Hladun ran on a member-focused platform that promised continued accountability of members’ dues, expanded opportunities for members to grow within the union, and representation and support of all members whether component or DCL.
The Convention Credentials Committee reported a registered total of 322 on Sunday, with 268 voting delegates, 22 guests and 32 observers.
