Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada team up with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for their 6th Annual School Supply Drive

WINNIPEG – The union representing over 8,000 members in Manitoba is once again teaming up with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Football Club to collect school supplies at Canad Inns Stadium gates before the next home game on Friday, August 24, 2012.

PSAC members have already been collecting supplies in their workplaces for the past few months and will collect supplies from ticket holders before tomorrow night’s game. All items and cash donations collected will be delivered, for the sixth year in a row, to schools with the greatest need in Winnipeg School Division’s inner city districts.

“When you invest in education, you invest in the entire community,” says Marianne Hladun, Regional Executive Vice-President for the PSAC Prairie Region. “Our goal is to ensure every child has the tools necessary to achieve his or her full potential, and we’re relying on PSAC members and Bombers ticket holders to achieve it. We ask that people bring their new or gently used school supplies for donation on game day.”
