Sodexo employees ratify tentative agreement at 15 Wing
MOOSE JAW, SK – Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada working for Sodexo at 15 Wing ratified their latest tentative agreement last week. PSAC made a number of important gains in negotiations and were able to achieve many of the demands submitted by the members.
Some of these gains include economic increases over the four-year life of the agreement, increased night shift premiums, standardized hours of work, improvements to bereavement leave and sick leave, seniority recognition for the purposes of vacation leave, and improvements to clothing provisions and footwear allowances.
“We are happy to have reached an agreement with Sodexo, but the gains have been hard earned by our members,” says Robyn Benson, Regional Executive Vice-President for the PSAC Prairie Region.
PSAC represents 31 Sodexo employees at 15 Wing including cooks, general help, and custodial staff. Their collective agreement expired June 30, 2010 and the workers have been in negotiations since August, 2010.
The Public Service Alliance of Canada represents more than 4,000 workers throughout Saskatchewan and over 172,000 workers across Canada, the majority of whom are in the federal public sector.
