7. Old Business:
a) Lunch Program Donation: We have $1000.00 to put towards this project. It was decided that $400.00 will go to William Whyte School. $600.00 will go to Niji Mahkwa School.
b) Vimbai thanked everyone for their help at the Bomber Game School Supplies Drive. Volunteers are recognized for their help.
8. New Business:
a) Manitoba Federation of Labour (MFL) Women’s Conference- Sisters in the Know- Registration deadline Nove8. One member is interested in attending.
b) MFL Women’s Committee December 6th Memorial Luncheon – Gloria and Dawn stated their interest in attending. Committee approved the purchase of two tickets.
c) MFL Women’s Committee Fundraiser- Poinsettias –Take back to Local’s. Plants can be picked up at the MFL Dec. 6 Luncheon.
d) Red Dress Campaign - Everyone is to take poster back to Local. If you have red dresses to donate please drop off at the Winnipeg RO. A notice has been shared with the Locals.
e) Seasonal Celebration planning committee – RWC will be hosting the Celebration this year. Human Rights Committee and Area Council Committee will help pay for the food. Deanna to look into food and a speaker. Invitation to be sent to all Committees and Locals, with a request for a RSVP. Cut off day for food to be ordered Dec7. Toiletries can be given out that day. We can help set up and clean up. Deanna will give an update about the celebration luncheon. Those who have committed to be here to help are: Vimbai, Gloria, Karon, Deanna, and Cathy. Thanks to all in advance for their help.
f) Civic Elections – Winnipeg Area Council, has mailed out a brochure and letter from the Winnipeg Labour Council.
g) MFL Christmas Tree Fund. Information Attached. Committee approved a donation of $200.00 that will outfit a child.
