NAV Canada: tentative agreement votes between Feb 6 and 23 – vote on classification system to come
PSAC negotiators reached a tentative agreement with NAV Canada January 27. The 300 PSAC members covered by the agreement will vote on the collective agreement between February 6 and February 23, 2012.
The two and a half year agreement, if ratified, would expire December 31, 2013.

PSAC to conduct separate vote on classification system
The classification conversion exercise has now been completed. The employer will provide NAV Canada employees with an information session on the new classification system.
PSAC and NAV Canada have not negotiated a wage grid for the new classification standard.
The bargaining team will return to the table at the end of February to do so.
The union will conduct a separate vote on the classification system.
The two votes are needed because the two issues have different means of dispute resolution. If the tentative agreement is not ratified, the next step is conciliation/strike. If the new classification system is not ratified, the next step is arbitration.
The union will put the new classification system to a vote in February or early March.
The meetings are an opportunity to assess the agreement and to get answers to your questions. Please attend them to have all of your questions answered.
