I attended the Pride Parade and the Labour Day BBQ. Both were very well attended.

1 – Day of Mourning Wreath needs a new ribbon – Information to be gathered for the cost - MTF
2 – Remembrance day – laying of wreath – if there are former military members that would like to
lay the wreath this year please contact the Regional office who will contact the Area Council
3 – GCWCC – community awards from the area council – Sister Jackie to contact the GCWCC - MTF
4 – AGM – set for Thursday, November 22nd, 2018
5 – Open House – set for Wednesday, December 12th – 4-8pm – suggestions for guest speakers to be
sent to the regional office
6 – Orange Shirt Day – September 30th – commemorates the children who never returned from
Residential Schools, as well as the survivors. It is a time to come together in the spirit of
reconciliation and hope for the generations of children to come. Wear your orange shirt &/or an
orange shirt pin to affirm that every child matters and to show your commitment to reconciliation.

7 – Saskatchewan Federation of Labour – Sister Evelyn will be attending this year in Regina.
8 – Brother Isaac Armstrong PSAC Staff for U of S Local 40004 – has approx 1100 members of which
approx 200 members are without a contract, possibly going to arbitration. Discussion about support,
letter writing, on-line petitions, & information sheets to get the message out about this issue.
9 – Sister Louise Mardell (RO Rep) spoke on the following topics:
a) Here for Canadians campaign – launched Monday, September 24th on the PSAC web site to bring
awareness about the Phoenix problems. There are pins, etc in the RO Office for meetings.
b) Active Shooters Workshop – Sister Louise attended one and said that it is well worth the hour
& half – locals could run as a lunch & learn??
c) Education – schedule is on the website - Oct 13 & 14 - Grievance Handling

Nov 28 – Dec 2 – Unionism on Turtle island – Calgary – registration deadline Oct 8th
Dec 16th - Connecting with Indigenous Members Workshop featuring the Kairos Blanket Exercise Dec 5

d) Education meeting scheduled for October 18th to discuss upcoming courses – what do the members
