PSAC REGIONAL WOMEN’S COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
DECEMBER 13, 2018
Call to order: 5:30
In attendance: Michelle Lang, Dani Aubichon, Sandra Ahenakew PSAC Regional Rep Martha Johnson
Financial Report: The current balance is the account is $2,187.66
Approval of Minutes from the November 21, 2018 meeting. M/S Michelle/Dani – minutes approved.
New Business:
Self Defense for Women – RWC will be hosting this event in conjunction with International Woman’s Day 2019. The tentative date is Saturday March 9, 2019. The RWC is planning on offering a morning session and an afternoon session. Lunch will be provided, as well as snacks and water and juice. Martha Johnson has volunteered to make chili and Sandra will make bannock. The will be a $10.00 cost for participating and all funds collected will be donated to the Fort Qu’Appelle Woman’s Shelter.
Action Item: Dani Aubichon will look for a venue to host the event.
White Pony Regina, Mamaweyatitan Centre – Helping Woman on the Street – the RWC has decided to provide 25 “Life Line Bags” which will include; Mitts/Gloves, Scarves, Feminine Products, Condoms, and Toiletries. The Life Line Bags will be delivered to the White Pony volunteer street patrollers to distribute to the woman.
Action Item: Sandra is in contact with the Street Patrollers and will organize a day to drop off the Life Line Bags and inquire about volunteer opportunities for the RWC.
