Attendees: Jeff Sexton (Chair), Martin Kaminski, Glen Johnston, Mike Weisgerber, Jennifer Grant, Jenifer Chelkowski, Susan Norman (APSAR), Tracy Thor (PSAC staff rep)

Call to Order: 
Br Sexton called the meeting to order at 5:09pm.

PSAC Harassment Coordinator: 
Sr Thor appointed for the meeting.

Previous Minutes:
Presented and approved. M – Br Weisgerber, S – Br Kaminski. Carried

Treasurer’s Report:
Sr Grant reported the current balance is $4534.14. 

Sr Grant made a motion for the meeting expenses and budgeted line item payments to be approved as follows:
$250 cheque for UNDE 50704 for covering WMAC contribution to BDLC Labour Day Event
$50.92 for meeting food to Sr Grant
$500 replacement cheque for Women’s Resource Centre, previous cheque met a soapy end
Br Johnston seconded. Carried
A cheque was received from UNDE 50704 in the amount of $500 as a contribution to the WMAC event - United Way Christmas Tree Auction. 

The $500 to be divided to two specific expenses - $250 for gifts for receiving family and $250 towards auction bidding fund.
Sr Grant made a motion for a Budget breakdown for United Way Christmas Tree Auction funding allocation from PSAC ($2500).  Allocation to be split;

                                                $125 entry fee;

                                                $500 gifts for sponsored family;

                                                $300 decorations for tree;

                                                $120 door entry fee

                                                $1455 Auction contribution                               

Any un-used portion of the decorations budget will go towards gifts for the sponsored family.

Any additional donations received by WMAC for the United Way Christmas Tree Auction will be allocated to the Auction contribution fund.
Br Kaminski seconded. Carried. 

Agenda: 
Question regarding next meeting and confirmation from Sr Thor that elections will need to be held at the next meeting as there was not sufficient time allotted due to the reschedule of the meeting due to weather.  Elections that will be required are WMAC delegate to the PSAC Prairie Region Triennial convention as well as the WMAC rep to PRC.
Br Sexton moved Agenda as circulated. Sr Grant seconded. Carried.

  • PRC update
    Nov 14, 15 next meeting
    Discussion on Committees financial training sessions ongoing in Oct
    Current activities have been centered around election mobilizations
    Resolutions due for Prairie Region convention Jan 31, 2020, will need to be discussed at next meeting.
    Points from the floor
    Br Weisgerber brought forth a request that was discussed at the financial training.PSAC staff confirmed if Area council requests a speaker and access to conference call bookings for meetings, the office staff will provide these items. It was request that Br Sexton request through an email that the PSAC Winnipeg office purchase a speaker for the WMAC to use allowing members to call in and participate in WMAC meetings. Requests need only be made through Sr Thor for access and log in to a conference call line for meetings going forward.
    Sr Thor re-iterated the need to clarify the current reporting procedure for financial reporting through her until the new hand book is published.
    Sr Thor confirmed that PSAC training can be brought locally to Westman if WMAC can coordinate enough numbers to run a course.
    Sr Thor informed that there will be strike training upcoming late 2019/early 2020 for local executives, stewards, and lead members of Locals, more to follow.
    Sr Thor has committed to follow up on the posting of minutes to the website once submitted.
    Br Johnston queried the group on the recent financial training at the regional office.He was inquiring for additional feedback on the training as he is part of the finance committee that will be publishing the updated hand book following all of the training sessions.
    Sr Norman informed about attending recent APSAR meeting in Ottawa, APSAR is moving back in a good direction and to a positive culture.Especially of note was a presentation by PSAC President Chris Aylward.
    Sr Norman is available to present on APSAR at any meeting or function, please contact her to coordinate a presentation.

Next meeting tentatively scheduled for Dec 10, 2019.
