Saskatoon Regional Women's Committee Meeting
January 19, 2011
Attendance: Nancy Johnson (UTE Chair), Elena Beynon (Agriculture Sec-Treas.), Marianne Hladun (Alt REVP Prairies, Agriculture), Rosemary Neufeld (Agriculture), Karen Zoller (Agriculture), Angie Chudy (Agriculture), Nicole Wurm (Agriculture), Evelyn Jackson (UNDE), Heather Longstaff (Saskatoon Regional Office Administrative Assistant)
1) Election of delegate from RWC to the 2011 Prairie Region Convention
Elections were held to determine the RWC delegate to the convention. Heather Longstaff conducted the elections.
Rosemary Neufeld was nominated by Angie Chudy and seconded by Nancy Johnson. Nicole Wurm was nominated by Karen Zoller and seconded by Evelyn Jackson.
Nicole Wurm was elected as a delegate and Rosemary Neufeld as alternate.
Action: Deadline for registration is January 26, 2011. Nancy to send off registration. Nicole to make her own travel arrangements and to book hotel.
2) Resolutions for 2011 Prairie Region Convention
The RWC worked on writing resolutions for the convention. Resolutions must be received no later than Wednesday, February 23, 2011. Resolutions may be submitted in either traditional or plain language format.
Angie and Karen had prepared one that they had worked on at last week's resolution writing workshop and the group finalized it. Several other resolutions from the recent Regional Women's Conference were discussed. Nancy will also liaise with the other chairs of Saskatchewan RWC's for ideas.
Action: Angie and Karen's resolution will be submitted by Nancy on behalf of the RWC. Additional resolutions should be directed to Nancy Johnson's attention prior to the February 23rd deadline.
3) Next meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 25th at the Saskatoon Regional Office. It will be a joint meeting with the local Area Council. Robyn Benson will be in attendance.
