Saskatoon and District Area Council General Meeting

President’s Report
The President’s report was reviewed. Jackie Nettleton will make necessary amendments before posting.
Treasurer’s Report
Balance as of December 31, 2012was $2, 193.87, with 2012 total expense $3, 494.63. Financial balances were reviewed and audited by Rosemary Neufeld and Nancy Johnson.
Budget
Karen Zoller proposed a donation from the Area Council to the Food Bank Garden Project. The AC will do so, however the AC members will also look into a donation from the Social Justice Fund.
Elections
President/Chair: Karen Zoller nominated Jackie Nettleton. Garry Cherneske seconded. Jackie Nettleton accepted.
Vice President: Nancy Johnson nominated Karen Zoller. Jackie Nettleton seconded. Karen Zoller accepted.
Secretary/Treasurer: Jackie Nettleton nominated Nicole Wurm. Garry Cherneske seconded. Nicole Wurm accepted.
Administration Process
Louise Mardell discussed the administration process and how the Saskatoon administration staff can help the committees. Also discussed was how union members can build union activism.
Regional Women’s Conference
Nancy Johnson discussed the upcoming RWC conference in Banff. She requested a $50 donation from the Area Council. Karen Zoller seconded and the motion passed.
Round Table
- Day of Mourning ceremony is Sunday, April 28th at 2pmat the Francis Morrison Library.
- CommunityGarden
- Prairie Region Council meeting review. Discussion included a request that unused money from the committees be returned and allocated back to active committees; what makes an active committee; strategy; and a debate on the new logo
