PSAC REGINA WOMEN’S COMMITEE MEETING FEBRIARY 24, 2016
Call to order: 5:40 PM

New Business – Upcoming Events
March 6 – International Women’s Day Event at Mackenzie Art Gallery sponsored by Regina Immigrant Women’s Society – Event starts at 1 PM for Women only and continues onto the Albert Street Bridge (everyone is welcome) at 2:15 participants are asked to bring/wear red scarves.
May 8, 2016 Mother’s Day Walk for MMIW meet at 2:00 PM in front of Legislative Building. Short walk to Albert Street bridge drop rose pedals/flowers into water
Action item: Sandra will create a poster for the event and send to Michelle; Michelle will create a Face book event.
Sandra to forward poster to Martha and Keith to post on PSAC website and share with Locals.
Michelle asked if the Regina RO has a Women’s Committee Banner. Martha will inquire with Marianne H. In regards to purchasing a Banner.
AGM Preparation
Proposed date for RWC AGM is March 22, 2016 at 5:30 at the PSAC office boardroom. Faceless Doll Activity nd Feat/pot Luck Meal.
Action Item:
Sandra will contact Erica B. from the Gathering Place and invite her to come to the ATGM and do a presentation on MMIW families.
Sandra will purchase material for the Faceless Doll Activity.
Michelle has Banks Statements/Transaction Log/Receipts ready for PSAC year end reporting.
Discussion on 2016-17 RWC Budget items;
Michelle noted that the deposit from the Self Defence for Women event in April 2015 was not showing in the Bank statements.
Action Item:
Dani will contact Bank and inquire about $200 deposit.
Michelle moved to increase the Donations budget item from $200 to $300 for the 2016-17 fiscal year. Debbi B, seconded. Motion carried.
Education& Training Budget item from the 2014-15 is $2,000. The committee discussed sponsoring RWC committee member to attend the SFK Prairie School for Union Women. Sponsorship will include cost of registration and mileage. The PSUW registration is $850 and Mileage from Regina is approximately $400. The RWC cannot cover the cost of lost wages.
Michelle will draft a proposal for Marianne’ consideration for this sponsorship of RWC committee members.
Dani moved to increase the Education & Training budget from $2,000 to $3,000 for the 2016-17 buget. Michelle seconded. Motion carried.
All other budget items will remain the same.
The current bank balance for the RWC is $3,052.50
