Agenda
Chair’s Report:
Nancy provided an update for activities from Take Back the Night as was a very huge success and lots of media coverage.
Sisters in Spirit Vigil 10th anniversary of Saskatoon events. There will be a panel discussion and walk. We have donated $200.00 as per our 2015 budget request.
Committee has been busy with all candidates debate/town hall. Saskatoon West is one of our targeted ridings and we need to help in any way possible. Some members had participated in the CLC Day of Action and canvassing with candidates in the targeted ridings. It was a very successful day. Nancy canvassed with Larry Hubich, SFL President and Lori Johb, SFL Secretary/Treasurer. Nancy chair’s the SFL Women’s committee. She encourages everyone to help out as much as possible to get a change in government.
The meeting was held on Sunday to accommodate election mail out but it was almost completed as acting admin had worked overtime to complete, it would have been nice to be informed so not to have members feedback about a Sunday meeting.
The SWCC is also holding a December 6th shoe memorial at the U of S in the tunnel. Shoes on display will be donated to a local women’s shelter. The RWC committee agreed to host an event at the office on December 6th. Nancy will organize with assistance of regional rep.
Nancy is scheduled for a conference call with Women chairs across the regions to discuss 2017 National Human Rights conference in Toronto and face to face meeting in October/November.
