Presentation on Asbestos Awareness by Jesse Todd
Main speaking points were:
PSAC Campaign on Banning Asbestos;
Activists;
National Letter;
Federal Gov’t in talks with companies that handle / sell / distribute products that
contain asbestos;
Federal gov’t is working on a national database of buildings that contain asbestos
– starting with the ones managed by public works;
Lobbying the federal legislation for certification for companies doing remediation
Round Table:
Evelyn Jackson & Jesse Todd are on the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour’s
Health & Safety Committee – 1st meeting is March 1st in Regina
