PSAC and Treasury Board have reached tentative agreements for the Program and Administrative Services (PA) Group, Education and Library Science (EB) Group, the Technical Services (TC) Group, and the Operational Services (SV) Group. PSAC regional offices are currently preparing to hold multi-local ratification meetings.
Ratification kits will be ready by the end of February. These kits will explain the changes that were negotiated and why our bargaining teams are recommending that members accept the tentative agreements.
Information meetings will be held so that members can hear from a bargaining team member and ask questions prior to casting their ballot on the tentative agreement. Given the size and diversity of the membership, the ratification vote process takes approximately six to eight weeks to conclude. Meetings are being scheduled throughout March and into April, with the vote results available on April 13, 2017.
Regional office staff will be reaching out to locals as dates and locations for meetings are confirmed. We will also post more information about meetings on the PSAC Prairie Region website as they are confirmed in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, our PSAC/CIU bargaining team for the FB group spent 3 days in mediation with Treasury Board and CBSA this past week. We made no progress on our key priorities for this round of bargaining. Given the refusal of Treasury Board and CBSA to address our priorities, we have declared impasse and will be proceeding to the next steps in the process
