Report for Feb 2016 – Nov 2016
The first event on my calendar after the Feb PRC meeting was the WMAC Annual General Meeting.
The WMAC AGM proved to be very eventful in that not only was the Vice President and Secretary Position’s up for election, the President’s position was also vacant as the former President had resigned for personal reasons. The Treasurer position was also vacated as our serving Treasurer was nominated and acclaimed to the position of President. Not since the inception of the Council have all positions been up for election at the same time. At this meeting I was elected to the position of Treasurer. The next meeting for the WMAC was held in April with the Phoenix pay system failure dominating much of the discussion. It was noted that no workplace seems to be immune to pay issues. Minutes from this meeting can be found on the PSAC Prairie Region website.
WMAC had tentatively scheduled a meeting in June but it was rescheduled to November, after the PRC meeting in Calgary.
Not much else has happened during this reporting period as the failure of the Phoenix pay system made dealing with members pay issues a top priority.
