Meeting Minutes
 
In Attendance: Tim Hubick, Daniela Aubichon, Michelle Lang, Sandra Ahenakew, Satinder Bains, Nadia Akbar Kamal. On the phone: Keith Hanson. PSAC Rep Martha Johnson
 
1) Call to order 5:31 p.m.
2) Reading of Harassment Statement – Sandra Ahenakew
3) Introductions
 
Motion to Accept Agenda (Michelle (M), Dani (S))
 
4) Moment of Silence for Las Vegas shooting victims
5) Financial Report – Dani
a. Bank Balance is $1,291.57
b. Cheque # 4 for $124.19 cleared our account.

6) Old Business
a. The 49 – 53 Orlando shooting memorial event will be an annual event. We need to advertise the event months in advance; access Communications has a new GLBTQ program on Access 7 and Talk of the Town; both are potential places to advertise the event.
7) New Business
a. Open House 
i. Discussion of having this event on Dec 9/17 and would include something, yet to be determined, to recognize Dec 10 International Human Rights Day
ii. Organize a Food Drive for Dec 9/17
iii. Ask Brett Pollard if he can provide music for Dec 9/17.
ACTION ITEM: Sandra will invite Austin Ahenakew – Spoken Word Poet to perform on Dec 9/17.
 
b. Unions of Regina Christmas Dinner is scheduled for Dec 20/17. Michelle will find out when we can go online to volunteer.
8) Next meeting is set for November 9, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. at the PSAC office.
9) Roundtable
a. Folklore Magazine editor looking for stories approximately 3,000 words; if there are any members interested in submitting articles on Saskatchewan Labour History contact Martha Johnson at PSAC and she will provide the contact information for the editor.
b. Satinder shared a description of a racist attack that occurred at the Real Canadian Brew House in Harbour Landing. The incident happened Oct 4/17 at 4:40 p.m. when Satinder witnessed a Sikh patron get assaulted in the restaurant.
