    • Balance as of Feb. 1st, 2017 $2,053.85
    • Need to use some of these funds to cover International Women’s Day Event
    • Motion to cover the cost of Women March on Washington – Lethbridge, AB expenses ($106.79) M/S/C K. Munns/S. Erb/carried

5. New and Ongoing Business

 5.1 Childcare Postcard Campaign

  • Rolled out in December
  • PSAC National has taken our grassroots campaign, using our graphics
  • Any ideas on how to expand this campaign
  • Bring in a computer at IWD events and ask people to sign the petition then
  • Write a letter to other affiliates (i.e. Public Interest Alberta)

5.2 Equity Conference – March 24-28th

  • K. Munns and S. Little were accepted a delegates
  • Two resolutions
  • Addressing inequity in Public Service Health Care Plan and Family Care Policy

5.3 Delegates to Prairie Region Triennial

  • Decided by consensus – S. Little delegate S. Erb Alternate

6. New Business

6.1       D. McRae reigned as Vice-Chair

  • By-election for Vice-Chair
  • K. Munns nominated S. Erb, S. Little Seconded – Acclaimed

6. 2 Women’s March on Washington – Lethbridge, AB

  • 600 people in attendance
  • K. Munns and S. Little were organizers
  • Tuesday Feb 7th at The Owl – Amnesty Letter Writing Event to support Women’s Rights

6.3 Syrian Refugees in Lethbridge

  • Doing something for the refugee women
  • Learn to crochet evening with child minding
  • Women’s committee to donate hooks and crochet
  • K. Munns motions to spend up to $150 to cover the cost of learn to crochet – all in favour
  • Location to be determined

6.3 International Women’s Day Planning

  • Swim Event as previous years
  • Free Community Yoga (Wednesdays)
  • Family Sock Hop
  • Movie Screening at Public Library – committee to look for appropriate films, give away swim passes at this event, so women can use at their leisure.

7. Upcoming Education

  • Talking Union Basics Calgary-February 17th 5:30-8:30 and February 18th 8:30-4:30
  • Grievance Handling Calgary-March 18-19, 2017
  • Convention Procedures Calgary-April 1-2, 2017
  • Advanced Representation for Stewards Calgary- June 8-11, 2017
