CLiFF Film Festival

IT’S A FILM FESTIVAL ! ! !

The Calgary Area Council is hosting the 3rd Annual screening of CLiFF

The Canadian Labour International Film Festival tells the stories of workers – unionized and non-unionized. CLiFF is the stage and the voice of those who seek justice on the job and dignity in their workplace. CLiFF also brings the subject of unpaid work and work for equal pay into a public forum.. FILM.

The CLiFF festival provides a national platform to show and showcase those stories which have been made into films, but cannot find an audience beyond the filmmakers’ own circle of influence. It gives filmmakers exposure across Canada, and in some parts of the United States. CLiFF brings the community attention to labour films made in the past that represent stories that deserve wider and current audience.

We have 8 short films (some 6 min, some 30 min) from filmmakers all over the globe. These films have something for everybody -- animated, comedy, documentary, and drama; we even have one from Alberta’s own AUPE.

Come on… join us… watch some movies in solidarity with other colleagues. We have MOVIE SNACKS to make it even more enjoyable.  Later, we can even have a chat about the film stories… just like the real film critics.
