Agenda: Addition of Phoenix Campaign, change to USGE’s Name.  Motion to adopt Melanie, seconder Kim.

Anti-Harassment Resource: Christina Creusot

Review of Minutes: No additions or corrections.  Minutes will be adopted in the next AGM.

Goals and strategies for 2017: France described that previous conversations included that we should have a flyer to describe what the Area Council is.  She contacted the Regional Office, who provided an information flyer.  Although the flyer is good for an introduction to PSAC we do not feel it’s a great choice to introduce the Area Council to our members.  France, Pennie and Shannon will work on this project.

Town Hall:  France has contacted Marianne Hladun to provide some options for guest speakers at a town hall.  The committee had a discussion about topics for guest speakers.  Dr. Gary Namie was mentioned but also that he is in high demand.  As we do not yet have an answer this item is tabled until the next meeting.
Secretary/Treasurer: Kim offered to take over the secretary part of the job.  Sherry has agreed to do the Treasurers portion, both have been elected by acclimation.

Education:  Louise explained that she went over the budget for 2017 by $10,000.  Some different ways of presenting training will be coming such as social media.  There will also be lunch and learns on phoenix, and PSAC will be asking for the employer to provide a work location and times to presenting this information.  We want to get the message out to the members that we are working on this all the time.  Our first goal is to get people paid correctly and the second is to focus on some hardship pay for people who have been affected.
Pay Advocates for Phoenix – PSAC is starting a program to train volunteers to be pay advocates at their worksites to answer questions.  It will be a one day training course that will provide you with tools on where to go for help and what to do to help people. If you are interested please contact the Regional Office in Saskatoon.
National Day of Action concerning Phoenix – PSAC is planning a day of action on Feb 28th.  Shannon also reviewed that the Mayor of Prince Albert is willing to support us, but that she needs to collect personal stories for sharing in this initiative.

USGE Protest: USGE is inviting all PSAC components to join them at a protest at Ralph Goodale’s office on Dec 19th at 12 pm.

USGE Name Change: Shannon Blum advised the committee of the name change Jan 1st to USJE – Union of Safety and Justice Employees.

Bylaw Committee: France asked for volunteers to review the committee bylaws.  France and Christina will review on a conference call with Louise.
