EDMONTON, AB – PSAC members will gather at Canada Place in Edmonton to protest the failed Phoenix Pay System tomorrow (Friday, February 9, 2018) at 12:00 Noon.
Thousands of federal public service workers have experienced pay problems because of Phoenix. PSAC’s top priority is doing everything in our power to ensure the pay system is fixed so public service employees get paid correctly and on time.
PSAC has demanded the government only recover net pay from employees who have received overpayments because of Phoenix, instead of requiring the reimbursement of gross pay. The government must also step up the hiring process and permanently expand the compensation capacity both in the pay centres and in departments.
Invitations to the rally have have been extended to both the Honourable Amarjeet Sohi, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities and Member of Parliament (Edmonton Mill Woods), and Randy Boissonnault, Member of Parliament (Edmonton Centre).
