This government has cut billions of dollars from public services and thousands of federal government jobs. These cuts are putting public services and public safety on the line. Harper’s shameful record is a resounding failure.

In the next video from the award-winning Prairies Video Project, members share stories about how their union has helped them in the workplace.Whether it be working with members through the grievance process or assisting with the duty to accommodate, PSAC members know their union is there for them.Michelle Hazzard (USGE) is one of the members who appears in this video. She shares her struggle with harrassment in the workplace and how her union helped her.

PSAC collected several awards at the Canadian Association of Labour Media (CALM) Awards this past weekend, with the PSAC Prairie Region taking home the award for "Best narrative video, or video series documentary" and honourable mention for "Best photograph".

To recognize National Day of Mourning, we're releasing a special edition of the Prairies Video Project to highlight asbestos awareness.This video highlights the work of the Saskatchewan Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (SADAO), a non-profit organization co-founded by former PSAC member Howard Willems, and the development of Bill 604, "Howard's Law".

One year ago, PSAC stood together with the Idle No More movement to defend our lands and our country.In the Prairies, we teamed up with William Singer III, a First Nations artist and activist who has been instrumental to the movement in Lethbridge and surrounding areas, to produce a special Idle No More button.

On January 31, 2014 the federal government closed eight Veterans Affairs offices across the country, including offices in Kelowna, Brandon, Saskatoon, Thunder Bay, Windsor, Sydney, Charlottetown and Corner Brook. The office in Prince George closed a year ago. Protests were held throughout the Prairies to speak out.

Hundreds of people braved the frigid -20 degree weather on Saturday to protest the elimination of door-to-door delivery at the Manitoba Legislative Building in Winnipeg. The Canada Post rally was one of many held across the country over the weekend.

For the second video in our series, PSAC Prairies members share their past experiences using sick leave and how invaluable that benefit was to them and their families when faced with unexpected circumstances. Phrases such as "peace of mind" and "insurance policy" were conveyed as part of the discussion.

More than 20cm of snow didn't stop devoted activists and concerned Canadians from protesting the Conservative Convention this past weekend. Thanks to all those who attended and spoke at the rally.
