This year’s National Public Service Week (NPSW), being held between June 9 and 15, is happening while 140,000 PSAC members are fighting to reach fair collective agreements and proper compensation for the Phoenix disaster.

CEIU/PSAC Members Rally in Winnipeg for a Fair Contract and Phoenix Compensation WINNIPEG, MB - Members of the Canada Employment and Immigration Union (CEIU) – a component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) – will hold a lunch hour rally in Winnipeg today (Thursday, June 6, 2019) from 12:00 noon to 12:30PM in front of 280 Broadway in Winnipeg. PSAC has declared impasse in negotiations with Treasury Board, which employs over 90,000 members of the PSAC including CEIU members. PSAC members make up the bulk of the federal public service.

The report made one thing clear: the government’s meagre offer to compensate our members for their many Phoenix damages is unacceptable.

Last month, PSAC raised concerns that the money the government had earmarked for Phoenix-related costs in the 2019 Budget was well below what is required. In a recent meeting of the Senate Financial Committee on National Finance that analysis was confirmed.
