Not Backing Down

Any concession is a threat to our hard-earned rights and benefits and will undoubtedly set the tone for future bargaining with separate employers and those that are provincially and municipally legislated. In other words, we are all affected by concession bargaining. Check back for ongoing updates about the attack on sick leave and what we're doing to fight concession bargaining.

USGE Local 40009 in Regina held an information picket on December 2 and got some good local coverage. About 25 USGE members marched for just under an hour, despite heavy snowfall and -30 weather.

More than 60 union leaders from across the Prairie Region gathered in Regina over the weekend to discuss priorities for our union and strategize for the coming year. The Prairies Summit opened on Saturday with greetings from Marianne Hladun, Prairies Regional Executive Vice-President.
