Marianne Hladun has served as Prairies Regional Executive Vice-President for the past five years. For over 20 years, Hladun’s comprehensive union experience has spanned various positions including President of Agriculture Union Local 40022.

She was elected North Saskatchewan Geographical Rep on the Prairie Region Council in 1999 and Alternate REVP in 2008 and 2011. She was National Human Rights Director for Agriculture Union for nine years, and Regional Vice-President, North Saskatchewan for one.

Previously elected three times to the CFIA bargaining team, Hladun is now responsible for 32 regional bargaining units, as well as being assigned to the PA bargaining team. She also leads Political Action and Campaigns and shares the Education AEC portfolios.

Hladun is an Alliance Facilitator, a graduate of PSAC’s Union Development Program and CLC’s Labour College of Canada, and holds a Labour Studies diploma from the University of Saskatchewan. She was Vice-President to the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour for 10 years and sat on committees including Education and Collective Bargaining/Labour Legislation. She also chaired Political Strategy for four years.

With a strong committment to community and social justice, Hladun has volunteered with the United Way of Saskatoon as Labour Representative on the Board of Directors for two terms, as well as the Saskatchewan Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization. She is also involved with NASHI, a charity to divert youth from human trafficking and has participated in five humanitarian missions to Ukraine with the charity.

Since 1986, Hladun has worked for Correctional Services of Canada, Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration and Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

 Report of the Regional Executive Vice President - Prairiesto the Prairie Region CouncilOctober 2009I am pleased to say we had an active summer in the Prairie region.  Our members were out in full force on the Think Public Campaign.  I believe that I covered all of the events in my National Board of Directors report but if I haven’t I will certainly make sure that I do in my next one.

 REPORT OF THE REGIONAL EXECUTIVE VICE-PRESIDENT PRAIRIESTO THE NATIONAL BOARD OF DIRECTORSJune 2 - 5, 2009This report covers the period from the last NBOD meeting.Regional CouncilThe Prairie Region Council met March 12th and 13th in Winnipeg and had a full agenda.  Some of the issues discussed were e-learning, Bill C-10, the Activists’ Conference strategic plans and our Prairies website.  Our PRC sub-committees met to review their plans and prepare their update for the leaders meeting.

 Robyn Benson - PSAC REVP PrairiesReport to Prairie Region CouncilMarch 2009 First let me apologize for not being at the last PRC meeting and the first ever Activist Conference.  As you know I was unable to attend because of conflicting priorities.  While the PRC meeting and the Activist Conference are indeed very important so to is negotiations.  We were able to secure tentative agreements for our Treasury Board and Agency Units despite the fact that the economic climate took a down turn.
