PSAC members in Saskatchewan attended Idle No More events throughout the province.

The Idle No More movement continues to gain momentum, with events held across the country on a regular basis, consistent coverage from major media outlets, and growing support from the public. In Saskatchewan, PSAC members united with activists from other unions and community groups to participate in Idle No More rallies and marches.

The National Aboriginal Peoples' Circle (NAPC) of the Public Service Alliance of Canada together with the leadership of the union are proud to stand in support of the grassroots First Nations movement “Idle no More.” Rallies in major centres across the country have brought thousands of Aboriginal peoples and their supporters to the streets, and more are planned in coming weeks.

Issues facing Indigenous peoples, past and present, were the focus of a 4-½ day course held in Winnipeg on September 26-30.

Each year on October 4, communities across Canada come together to honour the lives of missing and murdered Aboriginal women and girls. As we do so, we remember the lives of sisters, daughters, mothers and grandmothers tragically taken from us. We also support grieving families and provide opportunities for healing.

All employees at the Centre for Aboriginal Human Resource Development (CAHRD) will now benefit from improved working conditions and free collective bargaining, as nearly 100 workers, ranging from employment counselors to childcare workers and teachers, join the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC).

PSAC members participated in National Aboriginal Day events in Calgary. A booth on site distributed information about NAPC & Aboriginal rights.
