Talking Union Basics (TUB): The “TUB” course is the union’s key “introductory” education event. After many months without PSAC core education opportunities we are very happy to be able to provide a virtual TUB. PSAC National Education Officers have worked very hard to convert the “in person” education experience over to a virtual setting. This is the pilot and we are very pleased that the Prairies are the first to offer this experience. Without sacrificing the materials of a traditional TUB – careful consideration has been given to the experience of delivering education over a virtual platform. Please take a look at the schedule below.
What is TUB
Have you ever wondered what it means to be a union member and how your union (PSAC) works? The Talking Union Basics provides answers to these questions and much more. You will learn more about your collective agreement, your employee rights, and your rights as a member of the PSAC. You will explore the many opportunities to be active in the union and how to help build strong locals in the Prairie region. It is recommended that members take Talking Union Basics course as they provide a solid foundation for other PSAC courses.
We recommend having access to a computer with a camera and reliable internet to make the education experience more interactive and enjoyable.
Please note that the schedule below is intended as one full course. The Virtual TUB has been scheduled over 2 + ½ days to allay computer screen fatigue.
