Health and Safety meetings to be held throughout the Prairies

Do you know about, or have questions about, the changes to the Canada Labour Code Pt. II brought on by the implementation of Bill C-4? Do you have questions about what the region is doing in regards to health and safety? Would you like to share your thoughts on how health and safety, and communication can be improved?

Later this fall, Clint Wirth, Regional Representative - Health and Safety, will be touring many different workplaces throughout the Prairies, seeing firsthand the wide variety of work our members do, and sharing experiences that will strengthen H&S in the Prairies. This will include outlying areas such as Swift Current, Lacombe, and Banff, among others. Clint will also be hosting evening information sessions, reviewing the significant changes that will affect all of our members on a daily basis, with the introduction of Bill C-4. During these sessions, there will also be an opportunity to discuss some of the broader topics involving H&S in the Prairies.

If this is of interest to you, the evening information sessions will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be held in the following areas:

  • Regina - Tuesday, October 21, 2014, PSAC Regional Office (2445-13th Ave, Suite 200)
  • Prince Albert - Thursday, October 23, 2014, Travelodge Prince Albert, Coronet Room (3551 2nd Avenue West, 2nd Ave. & Marquis Road)
  • Edmonton - Tuesday, November 25, PSAC Regional Office (10665 Jasper Ave., Suite 670)
  • Calgary - Thursday, November 27, PSAC Regional Office (301-14th Street NW, Suite 302)

Please RSVP to Clint Wirth by email, as refreshments will need to be planned.

Saskatoon will be hosting an expanded H&S course October 24-25, 2014. The course material will review the roles and issues important to H&S activists, as well as a more thorough review of Bill C-4, and how this legislation came about. For more information or to register, click here.
