Help plan the first-ever Prairies Regional Racially Visible Conference

We are currently seeking volunteer representatives to sit on the Steering Committee for the Prairies Regional Racially Visible Conference, to be held in fall 2016.

Delegates at the last PSAC Triennial Convention adopted a resolution that called for the PSAC to allocate resources and funds for regional conferences for racially visible members. The resolution will come into effect for the PSAC 2016-2018 cycle.

RESOLUTION GEN-145

REGIONAL RACIALLY VISIBLE CONFERENCE

WHEREAS PSAC recognizes the importance of regional lens on PSAC priorities and actions; and

WHEREAS PSAC is seeing an increasing number of racially visible members across the North and in the communities; and

WHEREAS PSAC has made provisions for the establishment of Regional Racially Visible Committees; and

WHEREAS there is currently no provision for racially visible members to maintain links and connect between National Racially Visible Conferences:

BE IT RESOLVED THAT PSAC allocate necessary resources and funds to establish Regional Racially Visible Conferences.

If you are interested in having an active role in the planning of this exciting new conference, please complete the attached form and identify your experience with human rights, unions, and/or within the racially visible community.

Applications should be submitted to my office by fax or e-mail, no later than Monday, December 21, 2015. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact my office directly at 204-956-4625.
