PSAC members throughout the Prairie Region stand together with the residents of La Loche, Saskatchewan as they mourn the victims of last week’s shooting. Four people lost their lives and another seven were injured in this terrible tragedy.
On behalf of all members in the Prairie Region, we would like to express solidarity and sympathy with the residents, including some of our members who live in the community, and all who have been affected. Our deepest condolences go to the families and friends of the victims during a time of unimaginable hardship and grief.
Provincial and federal governments must act now and invest in the social services and resources needed in this community, and so many northern communities across Canada.
Every Canadian deserves to live in a safe and respectful community.
