Marianne Hladun has served as Prairies Regional Executive Vice-President for the past five years. For over 20 years, Hladun’s comprehensive union experience has spanned various positions including President of Agriculture Union Local 40022.

She was elected North Saskatchewan Geographical Rep on the Prairie Region Council in 1999 and Alternate REVP in 2008 and 2011. She was National Human Rights Director for Agriculture Union for nine years, and Regional Vice-President, North Saskatchewan for one.

Previously elected three times to the CFIA bargaining team, Hladun is now responsible for 32 regional bargaining units, as well as being assigned to the PA bargaining team. She also leads Political Action and Campaigns and shares the Education AEC portfolios.

Hladun is an Alliance Facilitator, a graduate of PSAC’s Union Development Program and CLC’s Labour College of Canada, and holds a Labour Studies diploma from the University of Saskatchewan. She was Vice-President to the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour for 10 years and sat on committees including Education and Collective Bargaining/Labour Legislation. She also chaired Political Strategy for four years.

With a strong committment to community and social justice, Hladun has volunteered with the United Way of Saskatoon as Labour Representative on the Board of Directors for two terms, as well as the Saskatchewan Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization. She is also involved with NASHI, a charity to divert youth from human trafficking and has participated in five humanitarian missions to Ukraine with the charity.

Since 1986, Hladun has worked for Correctional Services of Canada, Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration and Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

Dear members of our union family: Orange Shirt Day is an opportunity for our union to come together and support Indigenous peoples in the spirit of reconciliation and hope for generations of children to come. Orange Shirt Day recognizes all of those who experienced the trauma of residential schools and recommits our union to true national reconciliation with Indigenous peoples. PSAC is committed to work for true reconciliation with the Indigenous peoples of Canada.

PSAC – Prairie Region is pleased to present an exclusive Webinar with PSAC National VP Magali Picard on April 17, 7pm in Manitoba and 6pm in Alberta and Saskatchewan. The next round of Treasury Board Bargaining will be critical. PSAC Bargaining Team members have been hard at work pushing for a new contract and action for our members on Phoenix - and our members have been stepping up with actions: lobbying MPs, holding sit-ins in their offices, and showing support for our teams at the bargaining tables.
