Important information for Alberta members in regards to the upcoming Alberta Election.

PSAC is sponsoring three town halls for union members in the lead up to the Alberta election. These Town Halls are open to all union members.

The Saskatchewan provincial election is scheduled for April 4, 2016 and the Manitoba provincial election is scheduled for April 19, 2016. PSAC Area Councils have already begun planning mobilization efforts and actions around provincial elections. To get involved, please contact the PSAC regional office closest to you to be added to the e-mail list and find out about upcoming meetings.

PSAC asked Canadians to vote for change and on October 19 they delivered. With a unanimous mandate from our 17th Triennial Convention, PSAC launched the Vote to Stop the Cuts public awareness campaign on July 13. The message: stop the cuts to public services by voting out the Harper Conservatives.

PSAC national president Robyn Benson has reached out to the new government congratulating Justin Trudeau and his caucus on their election and expressing hope for a constructive relationship. She also requested a meeting with Mr. Trudeau as soon as possible.

Canadians rejected the Harper Conservatives and voted for change on October 19 and that is good news for Canada, says the Public Service Alliance of Canada.

With the federal election only a few days away, PSAC members and Canadians from coast to coast to coast are thinking seriously about heading to the polls, if they haven’t voted already. In Westman, PSAC members are helping giving local folks that extra push to the polls. In Brandon, PSAC-sponsored election coffee sleeves are hugging the take-out orders at coffee shops across the city.

Leading up to the election, the PSAC Prairie Region hosted 2015 federal election candidates' forums across the prairies. This was important initiative to provide our members, and the general public, with an opportunity to meet the candidates in certain ridings.
