Every year, we recognize March 21 as the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Racism is unacceptable in all its forms - but in 2019 there a rising tide of intolerance and we need to fight back in our workplaces and in our communities.
We have seen far too many examples of the deadly consequences of racism and intolerance. Too many lives have been lost to violent and extremist hate - but that violence does not come out of nowhere. It comes from racist speech, ignorance and lies.

World AIDS Day, observed on December 1st every year, is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS epidemic caused by the HIV infection. It is also a time for reflection on what has been achieved by the national and global response to HIV/AIDS – and what still needs to be done.

The federal government is currently creating an anti-racism strategy and is inviting all Canadians to participate in a consultation on this new strategy. The deadline for participation is December 9, 2018.
