International Women's Day represents nearly a century of struggle for the equality of women around the world. This year for March 8, sisters in the PSAC are fighting back against the Conservative government’s agenda to cut jobs and eliminate deficit, and moving forward to ensure our rights for the future.

PSAC members in Saskatoon participate in the December 6 event, honouring 14 women were murdered at l’École Polytechnique de Montréal.

YWCA Canada’s Rose Campaign to end violence against women and girls takes its name from the rose button created after 14 young women were murdered on December 6, 1989 and commemorates December 6 as Canada’s National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.

 On December 6, 1989, 14 women were murdered at l’École Polytechnique de Montréal. They died because they were women. More than 20 years later, we still remember and honour them.
